Mission Statement
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The UACCB Renaissance Days event was created to enrich the
Batesville community and creatively educate the students and teachers of this
region about the Renaissance era.
***Here are some of the daytime activities and workshops you will find at this event:Sword Fighting, Renaissance Music and Dance, Southside Madrigal Choir, Art, May Pole, Archery, Horse Rides, Tug of War, Costumes, Banners, Castle Bound House, and Turkey Legs!
***Here are some of the daytime contests you will find at this event:
Banner, Quiz Bowl, Costume, Scavenger Hunt,and Tug of War.
***Some of the performers include the Ladyes of the Salty Kiss Comedy Pirate Troupe, Lady Melandra of the Woods, Lord Joe Jewel, Lady Amina, and the Renaissance Chamber Singers of UACCB.
***There will also be a free Renaissance Evening Showcase Friday night, April 9th @ 6:30 p.m. highlighting all the professional performers.
***This event is free and open to the public, but schools must register in advance by March 23rd to take part in the contests.

Objectives
----------------------------------------------------------
1. To fulfill the state standards and frameworks for the education of this
area’s students by collaborating with the teachers of this region.
2. To provide an interactive and creative multi-level learning experience
for this region’s students.
3. To provide a means for students to express themselves creatively via
art, literature, and performance.
4. To provide support and meaningful in-service opportunities for area
teachers.
5. To strengthen and enrich the Batesville community, regional students,
and teachers by providing fun and interesting activities and experiences that
illustrate the richness and importance of Renaissance literature, art, society, and
history.

| Renaissance Society Costume Contest |
The school who has the most levels of society adequately represented by costume and biography will win this contest. In case of a tie, the judges will focus on the authenticity of individual costumes and their corresponding biographies. |
